Come e perché si creano nuovi oggetti? Che posto ha l’artigianato ed il design in una economia digitale e globale?
materia nasce dalla volontà di raccontare il processo di creazione, dalla concezione alla realizzazione di oggetti e la loro importanza nella società. Il documentario parte alla scoperta di laboratori, botteghe e studi artistici nella città Roma sottolineando l’importanza di queste attività nello spazio urbano.
Argento, ceramica, formica, pietre, bronzo, carta ed altro sono i materiali che vengono plasmati per dare forma a delle idee. Da dove nasce l’inspirazione, come si sviluppa un progetto, quali sono le difficoltà che s’incontrano nel percorso? Attraverso i racconti di vari personaggi che spiegano come tutte queste tematiche vengono affrontate si parte per un viaggio nella creatività.

The documentary sets out to discover laboratories, shops and artistic studios in the city of Rome, underlining the importance of these activities in the urban space.
Silver, ceramic, formica, stones, bronze, paper and more are the materials that are molded to give shape to ideas. Where does the inspiration come from, how does a project develop, what are the difficulties encountered along the way? Through the stories of various characters who explain how all these issues are addressed, we set off on a journey into creativity.
